PTA fund raising
The Parent Teacher Association is pleased to be giving
its backing to
TWO EXCITING PROJECTS, proposed by the school,
for which we need the help of as many parents as possible this year to raise
a portion of the funding.
Project number one:
To install retractable raked seating to seat 110
in the Drama Hall in Hertford Building
The installation of raked seating in Hertford Hall means that everyone will
be able to have a proper view of the excellent, sell-out productions mounted
by the Drama department, which do so much to raise the profile of the school
in the local community. The seating, which can be stowed away when not required,
will turn the Hall into a kind of studio theatre, so it can be used for a
great many other events and presentations. It is intended that this be installed
in time for West Side Story on March 6, 7, 8 2002
Project number two:
To refurbish and equip the old Technology building, 26T,
to create a new Textiles Centre at the school.
The refurbishment of the existing building 26T into a Textiles
teaching area will have the following benefits:
- it will enable Textiles to be taught within the
Design & Technology (D&T) curriculum at Key Stages 3 & 4
- it will mean that D&T Textiles can be offered as a
GCSE option from September 2002
Cost of both projects: approx. £28,000,
part to be PTA-funded, part funded from other sources
The PTA are appealing to you as parents/guardians to consider
contributing towards these two exciting projects by regular monthly donations
or a single donation under the Gift Aid scheme.
By donating money in this way, the PTA can reclaim tax, if you are a taxpayer,
and increase the value of your donation by nearly 30% .Click
here for details.
Thank you.
